Houston, Texas – On May 28th, Employee Owned Holdings, Inc. welcomed Rod Longnecker and David Thun as the newest elected members to the EOHI Board of Directors during its annual board meeting held at EOHI Headquarters. Each had been formally elected during the EOHI annual shareholder’s meeting held the day before.
David Thun, former President and CEO of Power Systems LLC, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the fluid power industry to the Board. Working at Power Systems for over 46 years, Thun held various positions starting as a sales engineer and working his way up to President and CEO. During his 11 years of leading the company, Thun grew revenues by more than twice the industry average by establishing hose & electronic departments, implementing a kaizen continuous improvement program, developing a national sales team and many other initiatives. Thun was an owner of Power Systems and was instrumental in negotiating the sale of Power Systems to The Hillman Company, a private equity firm. In 2008, The Hillman Company sold Power Systems to Applied Industrial Technologies (AIT), a public company. During Thun's tenure with both The Hillman Company and AIT, he assisted in the completion of several other strategic acquisitions.
“As a former President and CEO of Power Systems, David has valuable experience in the fluid power industry,” says Richard Neels, President and CEO of EOHI. “We appreciate the additional outside perspective he brings to the Board and look forward to his future contributions.”
Over the past month, elections for a new employee elect Board representative have taken place at EOHI along with its affiliates that participate in the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). EOHI provides the ESOP participants with the ability to select a company employee to serve on the EOHI Board for the following year. In a close race Rod Longnecker was ultimately chosen as the new representative on the Board. Longnecker has over 10 years of experience at Gulf Controls Company, Inc. in Tampa, Florida, currently serving as its Vice-President of Engineering. Rod joined the EOHI family when GCC was acquired by EOHI in 2013 and has made a significant impact on large systems projects at GCC since that time.
“Rod is an excellent choice to represent our employee owners given his experience with GCC and his leadership capabilities,” says Neels. “We are glad to have him onboard as an important member in directing our employee-owned company.”
EOHI is a 100% employee owned company based in Houston, Texas with businesses located in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Florida, Colorado, Arizona & New Mexico.
